What is a detail box?
The detail box is a pre-prepared box designed for all the special wedding day trinkets your photographer may need on the morning of your wedding to capture those perfect, Instagram worthy, jaw dropping, signature detail shots.
Why make a detail box?
The overall answer is it saves both you, your photographer, and those helping out on your wedding day, time and stress. As a photographer, we can move around quickly and efficiently to do our job without bothering you, your party, or your mom by asking where this and that is. Detail boxes are also great because they hold everything your photographer will need to bring back to you to finish getting ready. So everyone knows exactly where everything is located without the hassle of hunting for it. This creates a high end look and luxury feel to your wedding day gallery.
What goes into a bridal box? Great question! Here is a list of some things to add into your box.
Not to be put into a box, but placed close by to be easily accessible to the photographer:
What type of “box” should I get for this? It is totally up to you! Some brides get a plastic container from the dollar store, while others may just use a shoe box. Whatever fits your details and works for your needs, works for me too! My favorite is when some brides opt to go a more luxurious route by using a metal or decorative box, or the more editorial vintage route by using a trunk or basket, that way they have a nice place to store their details and sentimental wedding day items even after their big day. No matter the box, the more important thing is to prepare it before the morning of your wedding and designate a special someone to keep track of it that morning to hand over to the photographer, maybe a bridesmaid, bridal attendant, or parent.
