Stephanie Small

a little bit about

I am from a small town in North Carolina, and photography isn’t just my career – it’s my passion. My goal is to deliver life-lasting photos that you will cherish forever. I want your pictures to be beautiful, but I also want your experience to be beautiful, too. Who wants to look back at a photo with their fiancé laughing, just to know it was all fake? That’s why I strive to make your experience fun, exciting, and memorable.

When I’m not taking pictures and having fun with clients, you can find me hanging out with my husband and two kids.

Once you have narrowed down your search, make sure your fiancé is also on board. Then trust your gut! You can’t go wrong with trusting your natural instincts.

Trust your instincts

Make sure you read the reviews of other brides who booked the photographer. The only way to know how your photographer will perform is to read first-hand testaments from those who have actually had experiences with them.

Read the reviews

The best way to figure out if a photographer is right for you is to book an engagement session. This will ensure that you choose the right person. AND, engagement sessions are great practice for the wedding day. You’ll learn poses and other tips so everything goes smoother on your special day.

Book an Engagement session

Don’t be afraid to ask your photographer questions. Schedule a call to be sure you two mesh well. You never want to arrive at a shoot just to realize that you don’t click with your photographer…especially on your wedding day.

Ask questions

I grew up in front of a camera participating in pageants and modeling, which means I know what it’s like to have no direction at a photoshoot and leave disappointed. I know what it’s like to be on the other side of the lens, stressed over posing. Do I look awkward? How’s my smile? Am I sporting a double chin??
But here’s the thing: My number one priority is making sure you never feel that way after a session – especially your wedding day. I’ll coach you and help pose you so you never feel or look awkward. Photos are not just about how you appear in the end result, but also the memories that go along with them. When you book with me, you’ll treasure not only the pictures taken, but the memories we made along the way.
